The admission exams will take place on the following dates:

Italian Language Test (for non-EU students only):
October 16, 9:00 (online mode)

Instrumental Exams:
October 17–18

The exam procedures are as follows:

Foreign students (including those already holding a certification of Italian language proficiency) are required to take an Italian language test online. Students will receive an email from the designated teacher containing the link for remote access. The language test will consist of a written and/or oral examination. Any student who is absent or deemed not eligible in the Italian language test will not be admitted to the instrumental exam.

The practical exam in the main subject will take place either in person at the premises of the G. Puccini Conservatory or through the evaluation of a submitted video. Candidates required to take the exam in person will receive a convocation email from the Academic Office with at least 5 days’ notice.

Candidates opting for the online practical exam must upload their video to:
https://issmpuccinigallarate.it/ammissioni-upload-video/
by October 16, 13:00. Please read the Vademecum.

Note: For online video admissions, the entire program must be recorded (e.g., if asked to perform one piece among several presented, all the presented pieces/studies must be recorded).

Exam programs can be found on the institution’s website under the Didattica section (select the Level, then the Instrument of interest).

Triennium candidates must take placement tests before the start of the academic year in:
o TRPM (Rhythmic Theory and Ear Training)
o Music History
o Theory of Harmony and Analysis
o Piano Reading and Practice (except for piano and guitar majors)

Candidates holding equivalent certification (from Conservatorio di Gallarate, another AFAM institution, or high school diploma from a Music Lyceum) are exempt, provided they attach the certification or a self-declaration (DPR 445/2000) along with the related syllabus for validation.
Internal students of the Conservatory are exempt.

Preparatory/Young Talents candidates must take placement tests in Rhythmic Theory and Ear Training (unless exempt with equivalent certification or Music Lyceum diploma, with self-declaration and syllabus attached). Internal Conservatorystudents are exempt.

Non-EU students requiring a study visa can find all necessary information at:
Foreign Students Page

Students awaiting a visa must apply on Nettuno and complete the pre-enrollment on Universitaly.

The pre-enrollment will only be approved after passing the Italian language test; otherwise, it will be rejected.

Non-EU students not residing in Italy must take the instrumental exam online via video submission after passing the Italian test.

Documents required for non-EU applicants (to be uploaded once only):

Valid visa or residence permit (or renewal application if expired)

The application will only be accepted if complete with all documents and payments (admission fee + government fee).
If incomplete, the office will request integration via email (check spam).

The Conservatory does not provide accompanists for admission exams.
In case of absence or incomplete application (which will not be accepted), no refunds will be issued for admission fees paid.
Successful candidates (subject to availability of places) will receive an email from the Academic Office. Enrollment for A.Y. 25/26 must be finalized within one week of the publication of the ranking list on the institutional website.
